Our annual pudding party is always greeted with glee! Everyone brings a homemade pudding, and after a modest first course, we spend the Sunday afternoon eating puddings. Yum!
Seven of us enjoyed a long weekend in Prague where we had plenty of time to enjoy the sights and sounds of this amazing city. On our last night we had our evening meal in a brewery where we bought a keg of beer which was tapped and put on the table for us to serve ourselves.
At our new year holiday in Lewes a few months ago, we were introduced to the pub game "Toad-in-the hole" at a local pub.The game involves throwing brass coins at a lead topped table with a hole in the middle, and is local to the pubs in East Sussex. Once home, we discovered that Lewes Lions Club runs a major international competition, and immediately made plansto return to Lewes in April to take part!
We have been running Reindeer Racing at Christmas for our friends at William Hitchcock House – a local sheltered housing complex – for some years. We had a wonderful evening with the residents placing their bets and taking part in dice throwing. We ended the evening with tea and Easter nest cakes.
This year, a rather wet day for our drinks station at the Fleet Half Marathon where we provide much-needed refreshments for 3000 runners! But the rain didn't dampen our, or the runners', enthusiasm...
