At our new year holiday in Lewes a few months ago, we were introduced to the pub game "Toad-in-the hole" at a local pub.The game involves throwing brass coins at a lead topped table with a hole in the middle, and is local to the pubs in East Sussex. Once home, we discovered that Lewes Lions Club runs a major international competition, and immediately made plansto return to Lewes in April to take part!
We have been running Reindeer Racing at Christmas for our friends at William Hitchcock House – a local sheltered housing complex – for some years. At the end of the last event, they asked if we could back again soon and so we adapted the racing for Easter Bunnies. We had a wonderful evening with the residents placing their bets and taking part in dice throwing. We ended the evening with tea and Easter nest cakes.
